Naturamistica (Mystical Nature) is a project I started working on during the lockdown.
I wanted to draw something just for me, illustrations that would take me somewhere else and that combine everything I love: nature, naturalistic illustration, surreal and details.
I wanted to try to mix all these elements into something truly mine. I started making pencil drawings and decided that I would work on them in traditional, adding at the end the digital color.
As the months go by I collected stories to draw, sketches, but also “subjects” to copy.
This year, while I was taking care of my garden, I noticed and collected many flowers and leaves that I want to include in these drawings. Now I have a lot of material, different leaves, seed holders, pine cones, dried flowers and much more and I will gradually collect more.
It is a journey that I am taking together with this bird-alchemist and through which I am trying to understand the path to take in the coming months.
We will see where it takes us!

Naturamistica è un progetto a cui ho iniziato a lavorare durante il lockdown. Volevo disegnare qualcosa solo per me, lavorare a illustrazioni che mi portassero da un’altra parte e che unissero tutto ciò che amo: la natura, l’illustrazione naturalistica, il surreale e i dettagli. Volevo cercare di unire tutti questi elementi in qualcosa di veramente mio.
Ho iniziato a fare dei disegni a matita e ho deciso che queste tavole le avrei realizzate completamente in tradizionale, aggiungendo solo il colore alla fine in digitale. Ma mano che i mesi passavano ho accumulato storie da disegnare, bozzetti, ma anche “soggetti” da copiare.
Quest’anno curando il mio giardino ho notato e collezionato molti fiori e foglie che voglio inserire in questi disegni. Ora ho tantissimo materiale, diverse foglie, portasemi, pigne, fiori secchi e molto altro e man mano ne raccoglierò altri.
Si tratta di un viaggio che io stessa sto facendo con questo alchimista volatile e in cui sto cercando di capire la direzione da intraprendere nei prossimi mesi.
Vedremo dove ci porterà!
